Overview of scholarly research/creative activity: My primary research interests focus on the design, development, and evaluation of ubiquitous interactive technology to support the development of children, particularly, children with special needs. I have experience in human-computer interaction and interaction design, with a specific focus on interactive surfaces, and educational.
Specific projects working on: My research agenda aims to design and develop technology to support all children's motor, cognitive, social, and emotional development to create more inclusive environments and provide qualitative and quantitative empirical evidence of their usefulness and efficacy.
Number of students looking to work with: 1-2
Time commitment for students: Bi-weekly meetings, expected 5 hrs commitment to week
When students are needed: Fall 2021, Interterm, Spring, and Summer 2022
Requirements for students who work with you: Depending on the project students may need to have programming skills, completed HCI course.
What would students be expected to do: Qualitative and quantitative data analysis, gather data requirements, design and development of technology, programming mobile application
Additional Information: Requirements should be defined depending on the project and student interest.
I speak English and Spanish, some qualitative data is in Spanish.
