Overview of scholarly research/creative activity:  My research focuses on Applied Microeconomics, Industrial Organization, Applied Game Theory, Copyright issues, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protections, and Patent Licensing.
I have done research which are industry and policy relevant; and require application of theories to solve real world problems.

Specific projects working on:  I have conducted research to study problems in economics that are fundamental, challenging and technically difficult to solve. The ultimate goal of my research is to develop economic theories, testable economic models and results that are useful for researchers, business practitioners and policymakers. I have done research which are industry and policy relevant; and require application of theories to solve real world problems.  Generally, I keep my research agenda quite open, but the main focus changes from time to time. Presently, I am conducting research in the following areas.

•    Innovation and Technology Transfer – Innovation of new technology is essential for economic prosperity and the diffusion of new technology is crucial for that process. In that context, I address the problem of how a new technology can be transferred successfully across firms through models of spatial competition. I study various modes of technology transfer and their implications on competition, innovation, and welfare.

•    Copyright Violations and IPR Protection – Protecting copyrighted material is necessary to provide incentive for future innovation for the copyright holder. IPR law play an important role in this process. In my research, I show how much public effort (from government and policymakers) and private effort (form copyright holders) are necessary to reduce the problem of copyright violations or piracy in a given economic environment which also induces innovation and enhance welfare.
