From a young age, she has always been interested in photography and film, and began taking photos and video at any opportunity with her parents' phones, Photobooth on their computers, or a digital camera. When she was in highschool, her dad began to pursue a career in professional photography. She would borrow his lenses and other equipment for school projects or to learn about the technical skills in photography. Having access to expensive camera equipment as well as the emergence of social media provided an outlet for her to express creativity in the photography field and look to others for inspiration. She became interested in the history of photography during her senior year of highschool in a photography class, where she developed a cyanotype in the darkroom for a final project. This interest carried on into college, where she decided to enroll in Chapman's History of Photography course.
