Spencer DeWeese-Rawnsley
My name is Spencer DeWeese-Rawnsley, and I am a junior at Chapman University, where I am pursuing a B.F.A. in Film Production with an emphasis in Cinematography, and a Design and History Fundamentals of Cinematography Themed Inquiry. I wish I had the ability to write a biography about my love for visuals without sounding like a cliché, but unfortunately I fear it’s unavoidable. The rabbit hole has no bottom to the wonderland of photos and motion pictures for me. It started with a middle school photography class and has led to me to pursue a career in Entertainment, while still developing film in my bathroom. Over my college career I realized the importance of learning as much as I could about the artists, techniques, and innovations that propelled us to where we are now, and how in doing so, my approach to making images would only be more developed. The life long pursuit of marrying ever evolving technologies with the timeless art of storytelling to, in some way, capture life as we experience it, is nothing short of exciting to me, and I look forward it seeing where it takes me.
