Action: Create Your CV / Resume
Objectives:
- Compile data reflecting your professional and educational skills and accomplishments.
- Assess which experiences would be best suited for the job you are applying for/intending to apply for
- Create a first draft of your professional CV or résumé.
Directions:
- Compile all possible information for your CV or résumé
- Contact information,
- A summary of your skills
- Work experience and volunteer experience
- Education and training
- Including your intended degree, professional development activities, certificates, internships, etc.
- Optionally you may wish to include job objective, a brief profile, a branding statement, additional accomplishments, and any other related experiences
- Find a job posting of a position you would potentially like to hold in the future
- Teaching position
- Publishing position
- Marketing position
- Administrative position
- Looking at the job description and requirements of a position you would like to have, assess what pieces of the information you compiled would best fit the job description/requirements
- Create your resume or CV using the information you feel best fits the position you might apply for. Keep in mind the various resources at your disposable for examples and advice
- Save your document as a PDF file with your name included in the filename
