Hand Pulling Down Bird's Beak to Inspect Starry Head

Unlike the other rendition of this omen, Moctezoma's hand is on the bird's beak, as if he is pulling it down to see what is on the head. Interestingly, the shape of the mirror plus the beak makes it look like Moctezoma is holding a magnifying glass to the bird's head to look at the stars. In a way, this pose also shows Moctezoma's dominance as a ruler. Also, there are multiple stars in the head, proving that Moctezoma saw the Fire Drill constellation, as said in the text.
