Codex Chapman

Head Glyph

Behind the seated ruler stands another identifying glyph. Although he shares the same headpiece as Moctezuma, the glyph and the regalia do not match. The glyph resembles a human head with a red piece of fabric tying up hair at the top of his head. Although the text explains why this is his glyph, it mentions that this ruler had to deal with a plague and war, meaning that sacrifices, specifically decapitations, were probably common in hopes of weaning off sicknesses and war.
