Codex Chapman

Stars Near Mountain Range

A group of ten stars appear on one side of a black curved line. Based on the shading near the left and right ends of the curved line makes the stars seem further in the background. Considering the image's content, it can only be assumed that the curved line and shading form a mountain range or tall land forms. Paired with the stars, it makes sense due to the concept of sky-watching and using landforms or buildings to measure a star's movements to interpret what activity or ritual needs to be performed.
