Overview of scholarly research/creative activity:  Dr. Etezad’s research interests are in the areas of radar signal processing, and digital signal processing. In addition, she is working on developing platforms for smart education. Specific recent and ongoing projects include the topics of smart educational technologies, remote sensing, intelligent sensing, and health monitoring.

Specific projects working on:  1-My new exciting field of research is the development of smart technologies in the field of engineering education. The goal is to contribute to the concept of smart education/smart-university. One of the ongoing projects is the development of a platform where students can compete in groups to finish the quiz in real-time right after each lecture. The app/website gives students a sense of participating in an online game hence enticing their interest while cementing the materials taught in class. You can contribute either in modifying the design stage, developing the app, or in the testing stage. 2-Developing a solution that meets the requirements of the technical standard for fever screening using thermal cameras in particular thermographic cameras made by Flir systems. The idea is that by using software we would be able to close the gap between thermographic cameras used in health care and the rest of thermographic cameras made by Flir systems. The goal of the project is to increase the detected thermal resolution by software. In addition, we research the scope of the data that can be obtained by processing the electromagnetic waves detected from the person using cameras.
