Exploring the Treasures of Leatherby Libraries: A Virtual, Self-Guided Tour

Center for American War Letters Archives

The Center for American War Letters Archives is a growing collection that preserves correspondence and other artifacts from every U.S. conflict, ranging from the American War for Independence to the present day. While the exhibit is open to visitors, researchers may request to view specific materials in the reading room, such as letters, postcards, emails, photographs, and realia. Researchers must make an appointment to access materials to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure quality assistance from the center's staff. The first-person primary materials preserved by the Center are a vital record of the collective memory of the American people and contribute to the scholarly discussion of war and American experience[s].
