Overview of scholarly research/creative activity:
Dr. Yang's primary research and scholarship expertise is in translational research, emphasizing the multidirectional integration of basic research, patient-oriented studies, and population-based research. Ultimately, the goal is to improve patient care and public health by developing translational therapeutics.

Specific projects working on:
Dr. Yang's ongoing research projects focus on identifying effective novel targets and approaches for melanoma therapy and prevention. Additionally, her research team is actively engaged in studies of medication safety and clinical outcomes of pharmacotherapy in pediatric patients.

What students need to work with Dr. Yang:
Experience with or knowledge of working with R Project would be helpful but optional.
What students would be doing:
Hands-on lab experiments, data analysis, presentation, and literature review.

Time commitment for students:
At least 4 hours per week.
