Overview of scholarly research/creative activity: Dr. Trudi Qi's research is at the intersection of computer graphics, VR/AR, and AI. She is particularly interested in studying multidisciplinary problems by connecting visual computing technologies with real-world human-centered endeavors. Potential application areas include healthcare, collaborative VR, and computational creativity.
Specific projects working on: Students with interest in computer graphics, game development, VR/AR, or AI are welcome to undertake or participate in her research projects:
* Build human-interactive 3D modeling and animation tools for content creation in VR/AR
* Develop VR/AR simulation techniques for medical education and training
* Build ML models for 3D computer graphics problems such as shape classification
* Develop interactive VR motion data visualization and statistical analysis tools
* Utilize AI/ML technologies to assist with human learning and training in VR/AR

When students are needed: Summer 2024
What students need to work with Dr. Qi: Prior course/project experience in Python/C#/C++, Knowledge/Experience in game development/ Computer Graphics/ VR/AR.
What students would be doing: Literature research/summary, computer simulation, data visualization/analysis
Time commitment for students: Meet once/week, expected 5-10 hours commitment to project/week (during the academic semesters).
