I'm a sophomore and currently studying political science. I was born and raised in San Jose, CA. I was interested in taking this class because of the recent events involving racial inequality and I was interested in learning where these modern problems stem from. I also wanted to learn more about Black subjects in art because I feel like mainstream media doesn't give black artists the recognition they deserve.
