The woman's head is thrown back, her mouth open in what appears to be a cry or groan. Her hands grip the sides of the birthing stool or bed on which she sits, knuckles whitened with the intensity of the moment.plain2024-05-02T03:07:46+00:00Maggie Ge4aa9272a6c57dc577497962163264b9dc0c8c343

Though Tlazolteotl was not considered a direct patroness of childbirth, her associations with fertility, regeneration, and the cyclical nature of existence lend a profound resonance to this depiction of the birthing process.plain2024-05-02T03:08:20+00:00Maggie Ge4aa9272a6c57dc577497962163264b9dc0c8c343
