In this comic, a figure of "oriental evil" tries to corrupt a young Japanese American boy and recruit him to fight the Americans before being defeated by an all-American Captain Courageous.
Summary
The comic begins with Captain Courageous climbing through the barbed wire fence of an evacuated Japanese American fishing village (it is implied that it is evacuated because all the people living there have been taken to an incarceration camp) to find evidence about a string of sinking ships off the coast. While in camp, the story pans to a Japanese American boy, Niki, whose parents tell him that he must be a good American by remaining in their internment camp. The boy disregards his parents' warning to look for his lost dog, and accidentally runs into Captain Nippo, the comic's villain, and his sidekick, Saki, who happens to be Niki's uncle. Captain Nippo and Saki are using the incarceration camp's fishing boats as a secret hideout to plan a submarine bombing. Capitan Nippo and Saki kidnap Niki and bring him to their lair. Captain Courageous follows and manages to rescue Niki, but Captain Nippo escapes on the submarine. Uncle Saki decides to prove his loyalty to the United States and pay for his crimes by sacrificing himself and blocking the submarine gun with his body, causing the entire submarine to explore, and thereby saving the day.
"Ha Ha, Fool Americans! We operate from beneath their very noses and yet they can't put a finger on us!"
